We just put our first episode out into the world.
It's my son Somers, four days after walking out of a 10-day silent Vipassana retreat — no phone, no talking, ten-plus hours a day sitting still. I asked him everything: what the first day was like when he had no idea what he'd signed up for, the point on day two when his back was throbbing and his joints had locked and he wasn't sure he'd make it, and the exact moment something let go and the whole thing changed. He rated it a ten out of ten. Unprompted.
Some highlights.
He experienced true bliss for the first time in his life.
He actually enjoyed the feeling of eating plain white rice and tempeh. No sauce, no salt and from a proper meat and potatoes kind of guy.
He plans on building in a daily meditation routine in his day.
He immediately installed a no scrolling app on his phone.
This interview is packed with raw, unscripted wisdom and I'm not just saying that because he's my boy.
Real conversations with young people about the experience a grant or bursary actually bought them — not the highlight reel, the whole thing, pain included.
The offer and it's open to ANY 18 to 22 year old to apply for:
We already run the Vipassana Reset: a bursary that covers part of the cost of a 10-day silent retreat in India, Thailand, or Nepal for young people aged 18 to 26, plus a few days after to let it sink in. That offer includes us buying your plane ticket if you qualify, and basically the creds are pretty slack for this retreat because we want people to do it, plus a week on the back end for some vacation time to enjoy your fresh new brain. Well, at least a mind with a reset.
Full details and the application are here: The Vipassana Reset →
You don't need a polished application to start. If you're in that age range and a 10-day retreat has been sitting in the back of your mind, email us and we'll get on a call — an actual conversation, not a form disappearing into an inbox. That's how this started with Somers, and it's how we want to keep doing it.
And if you go — whether it's through us or on your own — we want to hear how it actually went, on the record, the way Somers did. Good, bad, the parts that were harder than you expected. That's the podcast.
