Like most of the things that we do with the Finn Wardman World Explorer Fund, we do by vibe. I'm started to call this vibe living. I wanted to capture the experiment of doing a podcast. Maybe I'll follow through with it, or maybe I won't. Probably, I'll do something in between, from time to time, if there's a vibe. With Brenda there definitely is, she's such a lovely and wonderful person. I think of her now as a dear friend.
This is Brenda, one of our star grantees, and now mentor and selection committee member with the fund.
Brenda Gomez was working in hospitality when she applied for a World Explorer Fund grant. She had a plan that didn't make sense on paper and made complete sense everywhere else. She wanted to dive the Great Barrier Reef and work marine conservation in the Cayman Islands.
She got the grant. She went.
This is the first episode of the WEF Podcast. Brenda talks about what it took to leave a steady job, what she found underwater, and what changed when she stopped waiting for permission to do the thing she actually wanted to do.
