Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 12, 2026

1. Who We Are

The Finn Wardman World Explorer Fund ("the Fund", "we", "us") is an unincorporated private grant-making fund established in Bermuda. We operate the website at finnwardman.com and administer grant programmes for young people aged 18–26. Questions about this policy can be directed to info@finnwardman.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when you actively provide it to us. This includes:

Grant applications — name, email address, location, age, written plan, budget details, video submission, and any optional supporting materials you choose to include.

Contact enquiries — name and email address when you contact us directly.

Website usage — we may collect anonymised analytics data (pages visited, referral source, browser type) to understand how the site is used. This data is not linked to your identity.

We do not collect payment information. We do not use tracking pixels or behavioural advertising tools.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information solely for the following purposes:

To assess and administer grant applications. To communicate with applicants about the status of their application. To disburse grants to selected recipients. To publish first name, general location, and plan summary of grant recipients on our website and social channels (with consent). To respond to direct enquiries.

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

Selection committee — applications are reviewed by our independent selection committee members, who are bound by confidentiality.

Grant disbursement — if you are awarded a grant, we will share necessary banking details with our financial institution to process the transfer.

Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

5. How Long We Keep Your Information

Application data is retained for a maximum of 3 years after the application cycle closes. This allows us to consider reapplications and maintain programme records. After this period, application data is permanently deleted. Grant recipient records are retained indefinitely as part of the Fund's history, but only with the recipient's consent.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you. You may also request correction of inaccurate information, deletion of your information (subject to any legal retention obligations), or withdrawal of consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@finnwardman.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. Application data is stored securely and access is limited to Fund administrators and selection committee members on a need-to-know basis.

8. Cookies

This website may use essential cookies required for basic site functionality (such as form session state). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. If you disable cookies in your browser, the site will continue to function normally.

9. Third-Party Services

Our application form is processed via Formspree (formspree.io). Submissions are subject to Formspree's privacy policy in addition to this policy. Our website is hosted on Ghost Pro; Ghost's privacy policy applies to hosting infrastructure. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of linked third-party websites.
